Loop

Untitled (Long Jump and Triangle), Loop Series, 2022, Two channel video, Monitors, Ratchet and Strap, concrete, Dimensions Variable

The Loop series consists of ready-made video sculptures that serve as a contemporary extension of the Dadaist tradition, where the everyday is transformed into art. The juxtaposition of disparate visual elements in a carefully curated arrangement causes a palpable tension, compelling the viewer to navigate the delicate equilibrium that emerges within the juxtaposed chaos.

The playful nature of the arrangements allows for an open-ended interpretation, prompting viewers to engage with the dynamic interplay of moving images. The tension and balance inherent in each sculpture are not just visual constructs; they are metaphors for the broader dichotomies present in our lived experiences—order and disorder, harmony and discord, familiarity and the unexpected.

“They are metaphors for the broader dichotomies present in our lived experiences—order and disorder, harmony and discord, familiarity and the unexpected”

By leveraging the medium of video, I aim to infuse temporal dimensions into the traditional sculptural form. The dynamic nature of these ready-made video sculptures ensures that the tension and balance are not static; rather, they evolve over time, inviting viewers into an evolving narrative.

In essence, these video sculptures are a celebration of the found, the repurposed, and the juxtaposed. Through this playful exploration, I hope to challenge preconceived notions, provoke thought, and create a space where tension and balance coexist harmoniously, inviting viewers to embrace the complexity of the human experience.
